Wright
Sunday, January 28, 2007
text: Deu: 30; John 10:7-14

What does it MEAN to have abounding life? How can you get it? Surveys were taken from U.S. citizens who were over the age of 90 and they plainly stated if they had to live their live over again the number one thing that they would do would be to spend more time reflecting and carefully making decisions. That was closely followed by the desire to have taken more risk. Third, they wanted to invest their energy and time into lasting activities and into their families. The same questions was posed to college students who were on the verge of entering corporate America. The number one response they gave for what they desired out of their life was Success in their chosen career. How would you answer this question? The reason I ask is because your answer could very well be the key reason to where your soul makes its ultimate resting place. Abundant life can't be attained through Revlon, medicines, vitamins, or even having children. It can only be attained through a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you're interesting in getting "hooked up" with the right answer to every question you have ever asked then you need to get in touch with Jesus.

Take Another Look

Sunday, January 14, 2007
Bishop Jerry D. Wright

Key Text: Mark 8:23-26

I love this text and I REALLY loved this sermon. Bishop Wright declared that sometimes we need to take another look at a situation before we make a final determination about it. Biblical examples in this sermon ranged from Saul of Tarsus in the New Testament to Elijah in the Old Testament. By the time Bishop got to the drive the whole house was raised to their feet. So if you are looking for a "more perfect way" to guide your life then maybe it's time you take another look at where you are and how you are going about getting to your destination (Christians included). It has been proven that the second look can make all the difference between ultimate success or unmistakable failure.

Look at GREATER GRACE!

VI-CT-OR-Y

I GOT THE VICTORY IN JESUS!!!!

Greater Grace Temple
January 7, 2007

Key text: Genesis 3:14-15 / Joshua 1:3

Sometimes it hurts to take a long, hard look at the reasons why we stop, stutter-step, or tip toe into opportunities when they arise in our lives. Without even thinking about it, everyday countless opportunities are presented to us and most of them we miss. To many "Christians" live of life of defeat with no dominion, no power, and seemingly no hope of success. Why? They don't understand that they have a "bruised heel." Don't worry though, Jesus has bruised the head of Satan through his death and resurrection allowing us, Spiritual Israel, to reclaim what we have all the dominion and power we have lost. Thus, we are destined to have the victory. Sound intriguing? Pick up this message by emailing Greater Grace's media department so you can hear the details. I know you'll be blessed.

Did you miss Greater Grace bringing in 2007?

Watch night 2006 was a special time for Greater Grace. The afternoon between morning service and 9:00 PM seemed to fly by but it was enough for everyone to gather themselves to praise their way into a New Year.

The service started with prayer (of course). That was followed by the praise team doing their final work on 2006. Testimony service was just as moving knowing that just a few hours earlier Mary Humphrey's life was spared as her car caught on fire whiels he drove on the interstate highway. She got out unharmed. That was a time for high praise. We jumped into some preaching and Bishop Wright (via Min. Walker) mapped it out where every minister @ Grace got a chance to share one last word of encourage with the congregation.

Min. Jermaine Donaldson went first with a message entitled "Prove it!" This message talked about how God put Grace through a proving process in 2006. To prove is to search, test, and try. We were tried in the fire... now, in 2007, is the time for us to come out as pure gold! All of the Hell, heartache, and dissapointment that reared it's ugly head in the 2007 was a chance for us to grow up and get our priorities right. Now that we have been proved we can be used. "If you ain't proved it, don't you use it" was the mantra of this message.

Next came Min. Rachel Donaldson. Her massage was simply on fire. It was entitled "Forgetting the Past so I can Focus on the Future."
Phl 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

This message revolved around the fact that if you focus on the things that happened in the past then you can't really prepare yourself to do anything else. She exposed the devil and his trick to keep the minds of the people of God warped. How? She explained that the devil wants us to keep revisiting past dissapointments, let downs, and struggles and never look forward into what is ahead of us. She concluded that now, as we enter 2007, is the time to forgive and forget. This will release you to get everything that God has for you in this year instead of binding you to the frustrations of last year. A new beginning requires a new focus.

We took a break here from the preaching and got some good singing from the Annointed Mass Choir, aka G-TAC. They sang a couple selections. This was enough to get the church to eruption state but we calmed down just in time to hear some more word.

Min. Kevin J Walker preach: "Don't Grow Weary, Grow Grace"
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

A powerful, sober message about the significance of collecting a harvest. Most people are not aware of the energy that is required to -not only sow- BUT to reap. Reap is a complex practice for any crop and it involves serious work. After all the seed that was sown in 2006, Min Walker reminds us to get ready to reap. We have to do all the untangibles to get to the souls that are ready to be grafted into the body of Christ. It is our great commission. Being tired or falling out and fainting will not get it done. This season is too valuable to miss.

Next, Min. Lewis Gray told us: "I Want To Wait 'Til the Midnight Hour!"
He spoke about Paul and Silas triumphant experience while being locked in jail. The special hour in which the jail doors swung open for all the inmates because of the praise that was released. This is a "transitional" period where it is no longer the previous day. Irregardless of the way it appears, it is still the beginning of a new day. So, as 2006 came to a close Min. Gray adjured us to praise God because our day had already changed over and that the daybright was shortly following.

To finallize the year we heard a inspiring testimony from our first lady, Evangelist Josephine Wright then Bishop prayed us into the new year. Shouting, jumping, running, crying, and joy all burst forth as the curtain closed on 2006. God truly moved. Wish you were there.... maybe this year.

The Best Is Yet to Come!

"The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts." ~Haggai 2:9

Recently, Bishop Wright preached a message Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Indianapolis. Prior to his preaching, the choir sang powerfully and later took their seats amongst the saints. During that sermon, a lot of things became more clear to me. The Lord is preparing and pushing us, Grace Temple, to a new level in Him.

As I sat there, seated in front of me were two people, a young lady and her son. The young lady wore a hearing aid in her left ear. The lady's son, a small boy about 7 years old, also wore a hearing aid in his left ear. Seeing this made me sad, initially. I felt sorry for them because they were not born with full use of their ears. But as I began to look at them more closely, I begin to recognize that they were more than conquerors. You see, despite their weaknesses, they were still able to glorify and magnify the Lord with every fiber of their being. During testimony service, they stood up and sang. While the choir sang, they clapped their hands and sang along. Even while Bishop preached, they gave God everything they had. Surely, if these two people who lacked 100% of their hearing could praise God through that, surely I could praise God with everything I have.

And then, seated just a few feet down from the the mother and son was a gentleman I had once known before. For some reason, he was unable to grow hair on his head and face. Because he was not able to grow hair, he painted eye brows on his forehead. Yet, and still, that young man has found himself a wife and they have a beautiful baby girl together. And, to top things off, he has a giant praise in his heart. How dare I not give God the praise? He's been too good for me not to give Him the glory and honor he deserves. With that attitude, I made up my mind that I am going to give God everything I have until I have nothing left.

The change in the membership of Grace Temple is a clear testament that something big is about to happen. The 2006 year has been a year of great change with more than our fair share of additions and subtractions. We've seen some people come. And we've seen some people go. The current membership, however, seems to be on target with the vision for the house, GROW GRACE!

I want to grow Grace by giving all that I have to God. For, what we do today will have an impact on tomorrow. The more we give today, the better tomorrow will be. That's why the best is yet to come!

~Kevin J.

GREATER GRACE IS STEEL!

Adversity can either break you or make you. The same hammer that breaks the glass, also sharpens the steel.

-Bob Johnson, Ex President of BET

rregardless of who you are or where you are in life, I'm sure you have some adversity. I haven't met a person yet that has found a way to truly live carefree 100% of the time. I've talked with multi-millionaires (at work), the extremely famous, and the extremely talented, even near geniuses... all of them still had problems that came up through the course of their lives (and continued to come as long as they are alive). Thus, the conclusion I came to was that irregardless of status, age, race, class, or gifting... adversity has no respect of person, it will forever be a part of this human existence. The same is true for churches.

Be that as it may, I am thankful for this truth. Not because I am a hater and want everyone who has ever walked the face of this earth to struggle as I have struggled. Nope, that's not it at all. I'm excited about this fact because I know that it is adversity (not prosperity) that reveals the core of a person. I believe Francis Bacon said it best: While prosperity best discovers vice, adversity best discovers virtue, and the virtue that comes from adversity is fortitude. The good things, which belong to prosperity, are to be wished, but the good things, which belong to adversity, are to be admired. Therefore we know not of our own strength that has not met adversity.

As we gear up to face another year in which we have yet to reach perfection in every area of our ministry... we REJOICE! We embrace the fact that we are being sharpened (not shattered) by the pressures of life. All things (good and bad) are working together for our good! Once the pressure is released from our current situation we will not only know our existing strength but also become accutely aware of new strength(s) that was born out of the process of being sharpened.

So, I conclude by asking "will you embrace the qualities of steel -or- those of glass?"

I know Greater Grace wants to be steel!!!

by Jermaine C. It was culminated with the Church Anniversary in early November in which the name change from Grace Temple to "Greater" Grace Temple Apostolic became official! The name change is a sign of a destiny change. We are expecting Greater Unmerited Favor in the final quarter of 2006 and we believe that all of the seeds sown in 2006 will begin to take root and bring forth fruit in 2007!

With that, let's launch into 2007!

2007 looks to be a year of building, continued progress, and restoration. With new found freedom and enthusiasm, we embrace the upcoming year knowing that the favor of God has not left us. We have new faces at Grace that God has sent us and we are happy to have. We also plan for 2007 to be the year that we take what God is doing at Grace to the radio airwaves. We are currently looking for a local station to air our Sunday Morning Service. We also intend to build off of the success of the Vacation Bible School (Bro. Mark Humphrey) and Outreach Ministry (Evang. Rachel Donaldson) of 2006 by making both bigger and more involved this upcoming summer. Not only that, we will continue to feature new music and expand the music department under the leadership of Min. Kevin J. Walker. Of course, Suffragan Bishop Jerry D. Wright will continue preaching the gospel and proclaiming the truth right into the new year. Look for more intense midweek bible study lession that will add PowerPoint!

Greater Grace Temple Apostolic???

Yes... I know the change is sudden. It is not even official. But as it stands it appears that Grace Temple Apostolic Church, effectionately known as G-TAC, will be changing its name to Greater Grace Temple Apostolic sometime in early 2007!

Check out the new logo to the left!!! Just one of four designs created for the new level of ministry that God is elevating us to. With 3 months left in 2006, Grace Temple is gearing up for the Vision Conference in early October that will brainstorm and then layout a 3 year plan for the congregation. It also will incorporate some markers for Grace to go from church-ordinary to "church-extraordinary." I know if you are reading this then you're probably interested. No worries. The transformation is in full effect and the promotion is coming. I can feel it. Of course, true promotion does not come from the east or from the west but it comes from God. Pray for our church as we get ready to embrace this RADICAL change that God is prompting us to make. By faith I claim that we will be stronger, more focused, more structured, and more unified before December 2006! Programs that highlight our talents and promotes growth amongst our youth are already in place. The music department continues to travel extensively with the album. Our Pastor and First Lady continue to preach across the globe as well. Thus, we are convinced that the seeds that have been planted this year are the seeds of change. You don't want to miss the next level of Glory that shall be revealed in us!

"MY NEVER AGAIN LIST"

Never again will I confess "I can't" for "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13).Never again will I confess lack, for "My God shall supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Wright. In honor of Mother's Day and the many mothers in attendance, Bishop Wright rendered a sermon based out of Matthew 15:21-28 and 1:1-7. The woman who needed her daughter healed was able to make room for her blessing by pleading with God.

Sleep Walking In the Midnight Hour

Key Text:
Romans 13:11-14
Ephesians 6:13-18

Do you know:

What the midnight hour is?

What it REALLY means to spiritually sleep?

What season of this spiritual dispensation you are in?

Why there will be a great falling away from the church?

To get the answer to these and many other question you need this message. Eld. Amos put his heart and soul into this extremely charismatic sermon. The sub title was It's High Time to Put on The Armour of God! He let us know of all the current signs in society that leads him to believe that we must wake up as a body of Christ because it is a dark day and dark time in the history of our world and humanity. Yes, apocalytic theology is applied in the most traditional of senses with the intent of grabbing every listener and connecting them with the present moment in which they are still fortunate to be alive (for tomorrow is not promised).

Jermaine C. Your image to your significant other?

What spiritual shacking is?

Bishop got to the meat quickly in this sermon. The message was conviction laden which is on time for the current age in which we live. Bishop digs into the reasoning behind a lot of the issues that are connected to sexual sin, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Stating that often it is lowered expectations of God and life that are attacked to half-hearted/luke warm proclaimed Christians: Folks that have one foot in the church and another still in the world. He then exposes how these worldly habits and addictions only compound problems instead of resolving them. If God is nothing more than a glorified pimp to you or someone else you know then you need to get this message and get it right before it is everlasting too late.

Jermaine C. The North Eastern District praise team started us off with a bang. By the time they were finished the church was already reaching into another realm of Glory. Taking things even higher, Deniqua Donaldson delivered a testamony tied to a song in "Blessed." 4ever Grateful followed and even though we were only at the midpoint of our concert we were already having an altar call. People flooded the front of the church as the ministry of song transformed into an ontime word delivered in the form of prophesy. Glory be to God!

Of course, G-TAC came out geared up for the second half with every intent of singing until they passed out. A short collection of songs from their release were displayed featuring "Alright" written and lead by Min. Lewis Gray. We also were favored with the musical talents of Min. Hooks, Min B. Henry, and of course, Min. Milton J. Keys (producer of Heartburn and founder of Consuming Fire Records).

In short it was a momentus night and all parties involved knew they were witnessing history in the making for Harding Street, Grace Temple, the city of Anderson, and Gospel Music across the globe.

Church Building

Key Text: I Kings 10:1-10

This was a stirring sermon by Evangelist Wright that gave some clarity on the Queen of Sheba's connection to Solomon. Due to all the positive things that she heard about him, his home, and the way he managed the kingdom, she traveled to a whole different country bearing gifts in hopes of attaining some of his wisdom. It is amazing just how powerful the kingdom of God can be if we can get everyone into their proper place. She expounds by adding that support of the church starts with your lips. What you say (and don't say) about your home church goes a lot farther than you think. For the Queen of Sheba (who was in Africa) to hear of the great works of Solomon before computers, cell phones, and television he had to be doing something right. Yes, good things do travel slower than negatives... BUT eventually the good news does indeed spread. For more on how this connects with Church Building and Growth request this sermon. It's a keepsake for any up and coming ministry no matter where you are in the globe.

Jermaine C. Donaldson

A Message by Evg. Elder Woodson was traveling with his son-in-law and happened to be "in the area." And of course, when you're in the area, why not just stop by?

So with the blessing of Bishop Wright, Elder Woodson volunteered to minister to our hearts. What a blessing!?! So do you know:

Why we have positions in the church?

What is perfection (in Greek)?

How is perfection achieved?

Is spiritual age TRULY measured in calendar years since conversion?

Contact Grace for this tape... it will bless your heart and all your parts. Most importantly it will give you some much needed insight on the structure God intended for the Christian Church.

Called to be a SERVANT! (and how to correct that error).

What the Royal Law is?

How to use/apply the Royal Law?

How did Peter, a great apostle of the early church, get deeper revelation on the Royal Law?

Well, if you don't you need to hear this sermon. Bishop Jerry D. Wright worked through several familiar bible stories from Abraham, featured in this text, to Rahab, to the two blind men who cried out to Jesus for healing. The bottom line is that Faith -without works- is dead. As stated by the Bishop, "Faith without works" is the equivalence of " a body without a spirit." It tons more depth and revelation... I just can't tell it all in a note. You got to hear this one for yourself! It blessed me and it will bless you to!

The Month of April

Praise the Lord Everybody!

We're now in the month of April. We thank God for all the wonderful things that have transpired thus far during this year. God has only set us up for bigger and greater.

We began the month of April off with a twist. On Saturday, April 1, 2006, one of the eight sons of our Bishop and first lady, Jerrell Wright, was married to his beautiful bride Kendra in Little Rock, Arkansas. Many members of the family and the church ventured to Little Rock to share in the couples' beautiful ceremony and bliss. Bishop Wright officiated. Back home in Anderson, tag team preachers Ministers Jermaine and Rachel Donaldson manned the fort. The dynamic duo preached a rousing message to the remaining congregation of Grace Temple.

Points of interest this month include Evangelist Josephine Wright preaching at Zion Tabernacle in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Sunday, March 23, 2006. The Anointed Mass Choir aka G-TAC will be featured in the One Year Celebration Concert of Pastor Derek House in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday, April 28, 2006. In addition, Bro. Mark Humphrey will be leading the music department of the Northeastern District of the Indiana State Pentecostal Young People's Union Saturday, April 29, 2006. Indeed, it is a busy month.

While the ministries of Grace will be going forward around the state of Indiana, Suffragan Bishop Jerry D. Wright along with his companion will be globe trotting - literally. Bishop and First Lady will be presenting workshops and seminars in Ohio, Michigan and the Dominican Repulbis throughout the month of April.

Stay tuned for more details.

God bless,

Minister Kevin J. My name is Kevin J. Walker. I am your praise leader for this post. Hopefully, you came with the mind set of expectancy. I know I did. I am always looking for God to do the miraculous. I'm looking for God to do a new thing in the hearts and lives of all who frequent Grace Temple Apostolic Church.

Worship at Grace Temple is an experience. Often lead by Minister Rachel Donaldson or Minister Carolyn Davis (pictured behind me), you find that each time you sing a song or hear a testimony, you are closer to the hand of God. Our goal as worship leaders is to lead you into the throne room of heaven. We help you send up the praise so God can pour down his love, his power and his blessings on you. We come each Sunday to set the atmosphere for worship. We try to wipe out all signs of the dismal week you might have had, or the rough time you might have encountered on your way to church. We try to help you concentrate on the goodness of our God. Think about what he's done for you. Think about all the ways he's made for you. Think about all the doors he's opened for you. How dare we not give God the praise he is due?!?

If you have air in lungs, then you should have a song on your lips. If you have breath in your body, then you should have a praise in your heart. It's our job to help you remember why we came to church - to lift up the name of Jesus!

Bishop and First lady

Captured here are two of the most anointed, friendly, dedicated, faithful, giving, and supportive first couples you're ever going to meet. "GRACE"

Where to start?

BROTHERHOOD
Min. Lewis Gray and Deacon Davis head this department. They have some weekend breakfasts. They also intend to have a revival in the latter parts of the calendar year. I'll keep you posted. As for their work, they are two dedicated gentlemen. The make sure the "rest" of the church gets the attention it needs. Deacon Davis is currently spear-heading the renewal of our fellowship hall as well as tending to the general maintenance of the building.

MISSIONARY BOARD
Headed by First lady Wright, this department knows a lot about white. They have their Woman's Day services, give out gifts, and just love on everybody they can get a hold of. Thus far this year they have already hosted a service with featured Evang. Turner as the keynote speaker (from Christ Temple Anderson). It was an awesome service and tons of people turned out just to watch God move... and move God did. They gave out these great gift bags with candies and notepads and I was just like "Wow, I'm not a woman by any means, but can I have a bag PLEASE?" (They said yes).

MUSIC DEPARTMENT
One of the most dynamic music departments in the state resides at Grace Temple. Under the well-equipped leadership of Kevin J. Walker, the Music Department continues to learn and deliver powerful music week after week. Though there are few compositions that they'll shy away from, they are most known for their stirring hand-clapping, foot-stomping pieces that resemble church in the "ol school" way. But don't sleep on Grace; they can go classical, up-beat, or even Contemporary Christian if properly prepped. F.Y.I. Kevin J. Walker is also the founder of our beloved Family and Friends day. Known as the highest attendance day for Grace each year, this event features an anointed speaker and a host of guest from local and out of state places. If you missed this service in 2006 then you really missed a blessing (seriously). Oh... before I forget. Kevin works the sound room to so he can get you any sermons, concerts, or events you're interested in from Grace!

USHER BOARD
Talk about a department that is really doing big things. The usher board has pushed beyond the standard expectations. They not only greet and seat, but the head of the department makes sure we have a monthly newsletter, occasional usher board services, and keep the sanctuary in "tip top" shape! They just had their first service of the year and it had miming, singing, stepping, and good-solid preaching. That's taking ushering to a whole new level! Way to go Sis. Freda Gray.

OUTREACH
Three years in the making, the outreach leader has pushed and pushed for souls! I can honestly say that the G-TAC family has finally grown accustomed to taking it to the streets. We've grown tremendously through these services as far as our mindset of ministry goes. We're no longer afraid or uncomfortable setting up outside and praising God like we've lost our minds. In the three years Min. Rachel Donaldson has gotten all the necessary equipment (guess speakers, choirs, chairs and sound equipment) to ensure that each outing is better than the last. Watch out for summer 2006! It's going to be HOT (no pun intended).

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS
Working on an album... our debut release. Want more? Go to:
http://heartburncdproject.blogspot.com/
Enough said. The next time we'll do something worth noting will probably be in August with the Back2School Revival. Stay tuned for selected preachers. Oh, stay tuned for the development of Bro. Melvin. He'll be doing more and more as the year progresses.

GRACE TEMPLE APOSTOLIC CHURCH

Grace Temple Apostolic Church is a growing church right in the heart of the country. The pastor is Dr. Jerry D. Wright. The Assistant Pastor and first lady is Evangelist Josephine Wright. Our church is officially a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Dr. Jerry Wright is currently the president of the Dominican Republic Council for this organization and operates as the Suffragan Bishop.

If you are interested in a mighty move of God then you are officially in contact with the right group! We love praising God, encouraging souls through the preached word, singing to the top of our range, and witnessing. Our goal is to be as productive and as effective as spiritually possible.

We believe in following the law of Sowing and Reaping. Thus, we'll reap what we sow. So our current goal for 2006 is to sow as much Christian Love as possible. Compelled by an article that simply states "God blesses in direct proportion to the Gospel seed sown" by a church. We intend to sow in as many fields as we can find through as many means as we can ponder.

We're stepping up our level of expectation, trusting that Organized Evangelism will be the difference in our 15th year of service to the city of Anderson, the state of Indiana, the Dominican Republic, and the World!
